Lead Technician

Position Description:
As a lead technician at Phoenix A/V Specialists, you’ll spend your time working in homes and businesses to install and integrate the latest in A/V and automation technology. On Monday you might find yourself pulling wire at a home under construction; on Tuesday you may be hanging televisions and mounting projectors in conference rooms; and then end your week on Friday putting the finishing touches on a smarthome system. Some days you’ll work alone, but when you’re working with an assistant, you’ll direct their work and make sure that they learn along the way.

When the client is ready to use their technology for the first time, you’ll train them and answer all their questions. When you’re not installing systems, you’ll provide world class service and support to our clients. You won’t just be repairing their systems, though; you’ll also be repairing the relationship our clients have with the system. Whether you’re doing installation or service, you’ll provide detailed documentation of your work so that anyone on the team can pick up where you left off.

If we’re lucky, your daily work will be planned in advance. However, ours is a fast-moving and dynamic line of work, and priorities can shift at a moment’s notice. You must be comfortable with shifting focus and willing to be an active participant in juggling multiple demands and changing schedules.

You will always be expected to treat our clients and your colleagues with patience and friendliness no matter how big or small their issue. Client service is something we hold sacred at our company so it is of the utmost importance that you be willing and able to serve as a helping hand for our clients in their moment of need.

Job Requirements:
● 3+ years in A/V industry with experience leading large and complex projects
● Proven expertise with some or all of the following: Control4, Lutron, Crestron, Alarm Systems
● The ability to read and interpret plans and install systems according to specifications
● A high level of emotional intelligence
● Excellent communication skills
● The ability to remain patient and friendly at all times
